THE COLOURS OF AUTUMN

Autumn is one of our favourite seasons to travel. The summer crowds begin to disappear, landscapes change and many destinations settle into a slower, more enjoyable rhythm. From Kyoto turning shades of red and gold to harvest season in Tuscany, warmer days in Marrakech and spring arriving in Patagonia, these are a few places we particularly love at this time of year.

Kyoto, Japan - Autumn in Colour

Few places do autumn quite like Kyoto. Temples, gardens and surrounding hills turn brilliant shades of red, orange and gold, while cooler temperatures make it one of the loveliest times of year to explore the city. Spend the day with a private guide discovering quieter temples and gardens, stop for exceptional Japanese food and return to some of the country’s most beautiful hotels.

Tuscany, Italy - Harvest Season

Autumn brings Tuscany back to a slower pace. Grape harvests, olive picking and cooler days make it ideal for exploring the countryside, with truffle hunting, vineyard visits and long lunches taking the place of summer’s poolside rhythm. Combine a few nights on a country estate with time in Florence for an easy autumn escape.

Paris, France - Autumn in the City

Paris takes on a softer rhythm in autumn. Tree-lined avenues turn shades of amber and gold, cooler days invite long walks along the Seine, and cafés offer the perfect excuse to pause. Spend your time exploring galleries, discovering neighbourhood boutiques and enjoying exceptional food, before returning to one of the city’s most beautiful hotels.

Marrakech, Morocco - Autumn Sun

For those not quite ready to let go of summer, Marrakech comes into its own in autumn. The heat softens enough to comfortably explore the souks, gardens and restaurants while afternoons are still warm enough to spend beside the pool.

Patagonia, Chile - Spring in the South

As autumn arrives in Europe, Patagonia enters spring. Longer days, fresh landscapes and quieter trails make this a beautiful time to explore Torres del Paine and the surrounding wilderness. Spend the day hiking, horse riding or exploring with expert guides before returning to one of the region’s exceptional lodges.
